OCTOBER Chapter Meeting w/ Guest Speaker Steve Zakur
Join us for our October 4th NPTU Chapter Meeting where Steve Zakur will give a presentation on Pike Fishing in Saskatchewan. Steve traveled to Arctic Lodges in Northern Saskatchewan to fish Reindeer Lake - a 200-mile long lake that is home to excellent pike, lake trout, and grayling fisheries.
Steve will discuss the details of the trip - fishing techniques, gear, and patterns used - as well as tales of the many large pike caught. The tips and techniques covered will be applicable not only to faraway fisheries, but to Pike fishing in our local waters as well.
Steve Zakur, who has pursued many fish species both far away and close to home, writes a superb flyfishing blog called Sipping Emergers, and has written for several fly fishing publications including The Drake, The Flyfish Journal, Pulp Fly: Volume 3, Trout Magazine, and is a regular contributor to Hatch Magazine. A resident of Newtown, Steve is a past president of the Candlewood Valley chapter of Trout Unlimited.
