NPTU April Monthly Meeting- Speaker Brian Eltz

Our Guest Speaker this month will be DEEP Fisheries Biologist, Brian Eltz. Brian will discuss stocking in general, the new trout stamp, and some other 2018 regulation changes.

Brian Eltz is a Fisheries Biologist at the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Agency.  Currently, he oversees the distribution of salmonids throughout the State.  As well, he is lead staff on the DEEP Fisheries Stream Monitoring and Community Fishing Waters programs.  In the past he has been involved in Walleye management, the Coldwater Lakes program (Trophy Trout and Kokanee Salmon), and management of the Housatonic River. Brian holds a Master’s degree in Fisheries Management and Conservation from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a Bachelor’s degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Connecticut.  He is originally from Northeast Pennsylvania, where he fell in love with the outdoors.  In his down-time Brian enjoys spending time with his three children and wife - and, occasionally, finds time to hunt and fish.
