November Monthly Meeting Featuring Rich Stolis "Streamer Fishing Presentation"

Join us on November 1st at 7 p.m. as we welcome author, guide and fly designer Rich Strolis for a presentation highlighting strategies from his book “Catching Shadows: Tying Flies For The Toughest Fish and Strategies for Fishing Them.” His talk will be entitled “STREAMER FISHING PRESENTATION … & Fall is streamer time, so you won’t want to miss this one!

Rich started as a guide on our local Farmington and Housatonic Rivers, later transitioning his work to commercial tying, speaking engagements, and teaching many facets of both fly fishing and fly tying across the Northeast and Eastern seaboard. Although based out of the Northeast, his fly patterns have a strong following both nationally and internationally and have been tied and fished by many anglers as a result of Rich’s large library of online videos. He is a signature fly designer for the Montana Fly Company, which currently produces twenty-two of his patterns. Rich’s flies have also appeared in several national magazines and books, including Flyfisherman, Eastern Fly Fishing and many more …

While Rich is a very well-rounded trout fisherman, his passion lies in chasing trophy trout and various other apex finned predators on streamers. You can follow his work at his website: www.catchingshadows.com

Rich will be happy to sign copies of his book and will have some available for purchase.

The meeting is free and open to members, guests and the general public. It is held at the ION Bank Community Center Building, 270 Church Street, Naugatuck (next to the YMCA - parking behind the building, on the street and in the ION Bank lot across the street) and starts at 7:00 p.m. - but doors open at 6:30 p.m. for pizza, refreshments, and camaraderie with fellow anglers … and don’t miss out on our raffle. See you there! ... Bring a friend!
