Kinneytown Fishway Update--Information from Steve Gephard (DEEP Fisheries) regarding the Kinneytown Fishway data for this past spring. Gephard said “ … with the fishway boards out the Kinneytown Fishway has not had a season.” DEEP Fisheries Biologist Tim Wildman added “Because the fishway was designed to operate with the flashboards in place. If the boards are lost to high flows and the river returns to seasonal levels (with the boards still out) the fishway does not have enough water to operate effectively. We also had some monitoring equipment failures which will be resolved for next year.”
